I-Pa
Limited edition: 150 pairs
Type-I Patina Edition
Type-I is defined by a rounder lens shape set beneath a straight top line. The contrast brings structure to the upper face while keeping a softer rhythm around the eye. It frames with calm definition rather than force.
The brow line gives presence, while the round lens opening keeps the expression open. This balance of firmness and ease allows the shape to sit clearly across varied profiles.
Each pair carries its own surface pattern and tonal variation. No two are identical. With wear, the material develops a deeper patina and natural sheen, making each piece more singular over time. This evolving surface is central to the Patina Edition and the reason the release is limited.
Karesansui lines are cut into the surface, then refined by hand to guide light across the rim and bridge. The front is built as a rigid structure and brought to final form through hand sanding. The temples are sculpted for even contact over long wear. Spring hinges are set for controlled closure and repeatable alignment over time.
This model is released in an edition of 150 numbered pairs. Each piece is accompanied by a TANAKA leather case and the full care kit.

Surface & Construction
Patina Edition is made to register time. The surface shifts with handling and wear, gaining depth in sheen and edge character. Variation is expected. It is part of the record.
Karesansui lines are cut, then refined by hand to steer light across rim and bridge. The texture is not printed. It is made.
The front is built as a rigid structure, then brought to final shape by hand sanding. Rivets hold the assembly. The temple insert slides in and locks with a micro screw.
Spring hinges are set for controlled closure and repeatable alignment over time.
Lenses are flat-profile polyamide with anti-reflection coating.
